Also known as the Stevensville Hotel, Swan Lake Resort sits at 1626 Briscoe Road in Swan Lake, south of Liberty, New York. From the 1920s to the 1970s, New York City Jews flocked to Catskill resorts in the summer months to escape the stifling heat of the city. There were once over 500 resorts and hotels in the area, known as the “Borscht Belt“.

Brings back memories for sure.I was a bellhop and valet there long ago. I remember a lady Tiny that cooked for the staff in the living quarters. I always washed Harry Dinnerstein’s car on Thursdays for 20.00 He was real nice we called him The Hawk, and his brother Morris ran the kitchen. All great folks, even Jean Harry’s wife. Beautiful resort, and always meticulous,as Harry was a white glove guy. So sad those days are gone.Saw Myron Cohen, and all the greats on show nigjts.Jennie Grossinger used to sell her resort to the baker each weekend, and buy it back after the weekend.Pthose were the days.
