Returned to Thompson Park, one of my favorite locations in Watertown, New York, with model Sarah Dingle. It was cold and snowy, but the weather added its own beauty to an otherwise charming photo shoot.
Model Cecelia Rose in Thompson Park, overlooking Watertown, Jefferson County, New York. It was supposed to be sunnier, but we made it work. This stone gazebo turned out to be the perfect setting, and her green sweater and plaid scarf contrast nicely with the setting.
In this series, model Bri O poses along the St. Lawrence River, mostly with Boldt Castle in the distance. We took some pictures at the wooden gazebo at the Thousand Island Marina on Wellesley Island but only a few came out. This is my favorite spot on the St. Lawrence. I love the history and romanticism of Boldt Castle. Bri’s jacket also contrasted nicely with the snow.
Last year I decided to up my photography game and finally bought a professional camera. I’ve largely been taking pictures of vintage signs, monuments, and landscapes, but recently I decided to branch out into photographing models. I’ve been lucky to work with a few here in Upstate New York, including the incredibly talented Eira Angelic. She makes her own costumes and does her own makeup, and she created this dark Shironuri Style for our photo shoot. Shironuri is a Japanese style using white face paint. It looks particularly cool contrasting with the snow.
