Twenty-five years ago, I self-published my novella The River of Rain, a philosophical exploration of freedom, human nature, and the modern world. For the past 24 weeks or so, to mark its anniversary, I have released a fully revised edition, chapter by chapter, every Wednesday. This is the novel as it was meant to be.

When Ariana disappears into a vast and unforgiving wilderness, her survival depends on Victor, a young man who has abandoned civilization and learned to live by the ancient laws of the forest. Under his guidance, she sheds the comforts and certainties of her former life, discovering a strength within herself she never knew existed.

But the forest is not empty. Something old and elusive watches from the shadows, and the closer Ariana grows to Victor, the more the boundary between love and captivity begins to blur. As the outside world closes in, she must decide whether she still wants to be rescued—or whether the girl everyone is searching for has already disappeared.

Follow the story as each installment brings you closer to its exciting conclusion!
