Welcome to my brand new website! Not only will it have the advantage of the WordPress engine, it will be more cost effective while making my writing more accessable to you, the reader! AS a former camper at ST. FRANCIS BOY’S CAMP, LIBERTYVILLE ILLINOIS, I was very interested in your fine video on”THE GATE”. I HAVE A HAND-OUT THAT WAS GIVEN AWAY IN 1958 (i think!) IT HAS A MAP OF THE CAMP BUILDINGS ON IT! i WILL GIVE- YEAH, FREE!!!- GIVE YOU A COPY IF YOU WANT IT. CONTACT ME AT MY EMAIL ADDRESS, AND I’LL FAX OR MAIL YOU A COPY.
ON PAGE ELEVEN OF THE HAND-OUT, I’M THE TALL KID WITH MY JACKET AROUND MY SHOULDERS, AND A BEANIE CAP, FEEDING THE HORSES.
The camp was a wonderful place when I was young, and I went several years, at the same time my older brothers would go to BOY SCOUT CAMP. I was just a CUB SCOUT at the time, and could not go to the “big camp’. MY younger brothers went to the camp, also, but at different times. We all used money earned from paper routes to pay for it, as my parents could not afford it, with 7 childern to support.
I remember the POOL very well. Strange that it should be so SCARY now
If you look into the NATIONAL CATHOLIC CAMPING ASSOCIATION, or THE FRANCISCAN FRIARS, if any of these still exsist, you may be able to get more information, or maybe just more run-around.
NO I DO NOT RECALL ANYTHING “WEIRD” HAPPENING THE 2 YEARS I WENT THERE. My 4 brothers may have some stories, I don’t know.
AND, no, I never heard of anyone being MOLESTED there. Other places yeah, but not there.

Im from Lerna, (transplant from 15mi south) and was watching a youtube video and saw something that I had to laugh at. The almost pre-cognition soda machines at Ivans Lawn Mower shop. The video doesnt do the machines justice. Fastest dang soda machine I have ever seen!
